Privacy Policy

What we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what happens to it.

This policy explains what personal information the Aurora Bricklaying website collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Who we are

Aurora Bricklaying Pty Ltd, Trustee for the Beck Family Trust, T/A Aurora Bricklaying, ABN 30 340 630 129. You can reach us using the details at the bottom of this page.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry through our contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the type of work you’re after, and whatever you tell us about your project.

When you apply for a job through our careers form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the role you’re applying for, your years of experience, and what you tell us about yourself.

If you call or email us directly we collect whatever you choose to tell us, and keep a record of the correspondence.

Automatically, our web host records standard server logs: IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested and the time. This is ordinary hosting and security activity.

Neither form accepts file uploads, so please don’t send documents through the website — email them to us instead. We don’t collect payment or card details through this site, and we don’t ask for sensitive information such as health or financial records. Please don’t include any in a form.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange a site visit and carry out work you engage us for; to assess job applications and contact applicants; to keep our records and meet our legal and insurance obligations; and to keep the website secure and working.

We don’t use your details for marketing unless you’ve asked us to, and we never sell your information.

Cookies and website data

The site uses functional cookies only — the ones WordPress sets so pages load and forms work correctly. We do not run analytics, advertising or social media tracking on this site, and there are no third-party marketing pixels. That’s why you won’t see a cookie consent banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may not work properly if you do.

Our page fonts are served by Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. If we add analytics later, we’ll update this policy first.

Who we share it with

We share your information only where it’s needed to run the business:

•  SiteGround, who host the website and store form submissions.
•  Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), which delivers the notification emails our forms generate.
•  Google Fonts, as described above.
•  Our accountant, insurers or professional advisers where genuinely required.
•  Anyone we’re required to disclose to by law.

Some of these providers store or process data on servers outside Australia. By using the site you accept that your information may be handled overseas by those providers.

Keeping it secure

The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and sits behind hosting-level security and firewall protection. Access to enquiries and applications is limited to the people who need it. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and job records for as long as we need them for the purpose they were collected and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations — generally at least seven years for anything relating to work performed. Unsuccessful job applications are kept for up to twelve months in case something suitable comes up, unless you ask us to remove them sooner.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it’s wrong, or ask us to delete it where we’re not required to keep it. Email us and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify who you are first.

Complaints

If you think we’ve mishandled your personal information, contact us first and we’ll look into it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, with the date shown at the top.
